The 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks is quickly approaching and
it's been nearly a decade since the Transportation Security
Administration (TSA) was created in response to the attacks. As somebody
who started in the beginning, it is incredible to look back and see how
far we've come and how much more secure aviation is today.

Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano will travel to New
York City on Thursday, Aug. 18 to participate in an International
Association of Firefighters ceremony honoring the fallen firefighters
who sacrificed their lives following the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11,
2001.

Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano today traveled to
Winnipeg, Canada to meet with her Canadian counterpart Public Safety
Minister Vic Toews to discuss the ongoing partnership between the United
States and Canada to work collaboratively on our shared vision for
perimeter security and strengthen information sharing to better combat
cross-border crime, while expediting legitimate trade and travel.
